Blind from "Release"

You were in the garden and I was in the back room, and silence fell like an anvil in between us. And the phone would not stop ringing but neither of us would answer, so I picked it up and I threw it as hard as I could.

Now there are marks up on the wall. And there are lines inside my head I don't know how to cross. And I don't know just how to talk to you anymore. And the look on your face is deafening and I don't want to hear it anymore. So I'm going to sit and drink this whiskey 'til I'm blind.

You thought you knew just what I needed but I was too goddamned complicated. And you fell short but I didn't let you know.

'Cause I'm a good little girl, you see, so I smiled every time that you looked at me. And your friend said I was a liar and now he's saying 'I told you so.'

And there's a hole up in the wall, and there are lines inside your head I don't know how to cross. And I don't know just what to say to you anymore. And the look on your face is deafening, and I don't want to hear it anymore. So I'm going to sit and drink this whiskey till I'm blind.

When you gonna go away and leave me standing? You don't like me, but you won't leave me. I'm standing at the window with a river in my hands. The banks are overflowing and the water is rough and I don't think that I'm going to hold it, dam(n) it. You are nothing more than a tiny grain of sand.

I don't know what made you think that you could stake a claim. But a claim gets washed away. A man can't hold back the rain.

You were in the garden and I was in the back room, and silence fell like an anvil in between us. And all the world went quiet as you made your final offer. But you can't get me through negotiation.

Now you've drawn your line in the sand, and I need this like I need a hole in my head. And you know how to make a girl feel small and cheap and tawdry as a whore. And the look on your face says everything and I don't want to hear it anymore so I'm going to sit and drink this whiskey
till you're gone.

You were in the garden...
